Matt received his undergraduate education at the University of Florida, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Business Management Degree in 2001, followed a Juris Doctorate, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Florida College of Law in 2004. After graduating law school, Matt joined one of Atlanta’s largest law firms, Troutman Sanders, as a commercial litigator. Matt later came home to Lakeland and practiced litigation at Clark, Campbell, Lancaster & Munson. Matt always believed he was more of an entrepreneur than a legal scholar, so in 2009 he left the practice of law and formed two real estate companies: Broadway Real Estate and StoreRight Self Storage, where he currently serves as President. Broadway focusses its efforts on Downtown Lakeland, where it owns and manages a large portfolio of almost 500,000 s.f. of Class A office and multi-family properties. StoreRight currently owns and operates nine Class A self storage facilities throughout Central Florida, consisting of over 800,000 sq. ft. of storage space. The StoreRight portfolio at one point was even larger, with eighteen facilities totaling nearly 2,000,000 s.f. of storage space, before StoreRight sold its first 6 facilities in December of 2021, generating annualized cash on cash returns for its investors in excess of 115%, with another 3 facilities sold in December of 2024 for similar returns.
More recently, Matt formed Broadway Capital to focus on acquiring and growing operating businesses, after Matt received his Certificate in Business Excellence for the Venture Capital and Private Equity Program from Columbia Business School in 2024. Under Matt’s leadership, Broadway Capital is actively pursuing acquisition opportunities for trade related home service and construction businesses throughout the Central Florida market, including electrical, plumbing, roofing, HVAC, and other similar trades.
Matt has been active in the local community, most recently serving on the Polk State College Foundation Board and Board of Directors for the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, where he served as Chair of the Board. Matt has also served as Co-Chair of the Talent Pipeline Team and as an Operating Board Member for Polk Vision, an Honorary Chair for March of Dimes, the City of Lakeland’s Charter Review Committee, Chairman for Ignite Lakeland, Treasurer and Board of Directors for the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority, Board of Directors for the Lakeland Downtown Community Redevelopment Association, and Board of Directors for Girls, Inc.
Matt has received the Dudley Uphoff Award for outstanding contributions to the Downtown Lakeland community. Broadway was awarded the George Harris Jr. Economic Development Award for Success in Small Business from the Central Florida Development Council, and both of his Broadway and StoreRight companies have received numerous top commercial developer and operator awards from the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Tom brings an extensive and diverse real estate background to the Broadway team, with a strong focus on the financial aspects associated with commercial real estate investments. Tom graduated from Florida State University where he graduated Cum Laude with an Accounting Degree. He went on to receive his MBA from Florida Southern College. Tom began his professional career at a prominent local CPA firm and then went on to SunTrust Bank where he worked in their commercial lending department. After SunTrust, Tom went to work for the Century Realty Funds family of projects in various roles dealing with financing and refinancing multiple properties and portfolios. Tom has also been active in the local community, serving on the Board of Directors for Explorations V Children’s Museum, the Lakeland Country Club, and the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority. Tom now serves as the CFO for both StoreRight and Broadway.
Jack is a native of Lakeland, Florida and has been in real estate since 1999. Jack has also had the opportunity to serve as CEO of Keller Williams Realty of Polk, managing a real estate team of over 250 agents.
